A New Facility // Sunrise (poetry by Bernard Pearson)
SUNRISE
Your resting face
No sculptor could
embellish
Is the one I read
each morning,
as you sleep.
While I, the horsehead
In your bed
Wait till you awake.
Now It is finally day
And life is no longer
to be lived In the
shadow cast
by a maze.
A NEW FACILITY
I’ve noticed that
When I close my eyes
The lids have
become thinner
Like paper walls
In a tea house
I often now
See two worlds
one still in shadow,
an under study
If you will.
