Whispers on my skin (Poetry by Ayanda Pristine Dlanga)

WHISPERS ON MY SKIN

Ice cold waters dance upon the tips if my skin,
pondering scars lingering in the dark
Ready to engulf, ready to steal what's never been,
Ravaging my soul, through the darkness embark.

Ice cold waters devour,
Like the razor blades intimate with my skin
Bleeding me so deeply, soaking me wet, savour,
Every bit of my skin, licking at my vein.

Ice cold waters like words that tip toe on my tongue,
Little truths waiting to expose my ravaged heart,
Frozen tears, like the emotions that I've never sung,
Thawing slowly, a sorrowful work of art

Ice cold waters, trickle down my spine,
Soothing the ache of these memory's weight,
Calming the sting of love's sharp decline,
Bringing calm to my heart's dark state.
