Story Me || Gatluak Makong || Poetry

story me

love me, love my life.

one day i will turn to dust

and the soul of me would be alive

while the flesh of me die.

one day i will be termed gone

where the poems i wrote will

build freedom. free the freedom

is to be sang again.

tomorrow i will

be poet at home.

poet writing odes to freedom

because home is never free.

an artist whom by will could died

before his death knocks his door.

tomorrow will i

be poet to be freed at home

to be freed by love and beauty

when beauty freezes itself

tomorrow will i

be the freed child

when freedom is freed

because i live now wanton death.

tomorrow will i

be the beauty of your morrow

though today is my sorrow

story me i am a poet at home.
