Open Call for Readers, Editorial & Creative Staff: Words-Empire Magazine

We are inviting passionate, committed individuals to join our editorial and creative team. Dedicated to publishing powerful voices in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and cultural discourse, Words-Empire is building a space where language, creativity, and thoughtful storytelling excels.

We are currently accepting applications for the following volunteer positions:

Editorial Team

[Review, select, and edit submissions while working closely with contributors]

• Poetry Editor

• Short Fiction Editor

• Nonfiction Editor

Leadership & Creative Roles

• Managing Editor

[Oversee editorial workflow, manage deadlines, coordinate issues, and support the Editor-in-Chief in day-to-day operations]

• Content Writer

[Produce original articles, interviews, reviews, and literary features for the magazine]

• Graphics Designer

[Create visual assets, layouts, and promotional materials aligned with the magazine’s aesthetic]

• Social Media Manager

[Manage and grow Words-Empire’s online presence, create content calendars, promote published work, and engage with our community across platforms]

Readers

We are also seeking Editorial Readers to support our submission review process across the following categories:

• Poetry Reader

• Short Fiction Reader

• Nonfiction Reader

Responsibilities include:

• Reading and evaluating submissions within assigned genres

• Providing brief editorial notes or recommendations to section editors

• Assisting in maintaining a fair, timely, and thoughtful review process

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain editorial experience and develop a critical reading practice within a professional literary magazine setting.

Readers will work closely with editors and may be considered for editorial positions as the magazine grows.
